Seeing the "Tree Whispers" garden is always a special treat. Reading the stories and viewing the drawings on the hand made paper "Rings" of the trees provokes smiles, memories, an occasional tear, and a sense of oneness with all who have shared. I can't imagine anyone not having a connection with a tree...climbing, swinging, falling ;(, listening to the rustle of the leaves, the frost in the sunlight, shade, the years a tree stands, marking time by the growth of a tree, collecting leaves, seeds, blossoms, fruit or nuts, planting, newness of leaves, color change and dropping of leaves, a bird's nest.....The "Tree Whispers" display is well worth the visit to see it and you may not ever look at a tree the same again! Enjoy the display.

This afternoon, my mother and I happened upon your exhibition in the botanic gardens. It is an extraordinary energy - all that love in one space! And for trees, which are the antennae of the earth . . . my mother is 82 and can't do everything she used to do, but she seemed quite interested in making tree rounds. I am visiting from the East Coast, and am leaving too soon to help her make the paper . . . Making paper is a new activity, and she does better right now with the kinds of things she used to do - but drawing and writing "cards" is very apropos of her joys and talents.
Is there a way to buy some of the rounds from someone nearby (she lives in Highland Park) so that we could get started right away? I am leaving town on Wednesday, it would be awesome if I could pick up some rounds tomorrow somewhere and begin this process with her.
Thanks again for your beautiful and transformative work.

Welcome to Treewhispers and welcome to the CCC! Thank you for you kind comments. I look forward to your tree story! Be sure to take a friend and wander through the Treewhispers forest at the upcoming exhibit at the Chicago Botanic Gardens beginning Jan. 14.

Treewhispers is a WordPress Blog. After uploading multiple photos you have the option of listing them or putting them in a slideshow. It does the magic. Glad you like the photos—just took some interesting winter leaf photos so stay tuned!

I just discovered your wonderful site and blog while exploring the Chicago Calligraphy Collective for workshops. I love the theme and artworks here, and see that a couple of posts, like this one, have the slide presentations. I was wondering what is the tool that looks like an iPad that shows the images? Would you mind sharing the information here? I would love to show my pictures of nature in this format (I am fascinated by tree leaves). Will be following the blog with RSS.
