What a lovely afternoon at the Evanston Grows Free Farm Stand!

Treewhispers was welcomed with such warmth by the Evanston Grows team and volunteers at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Evanston, IL. It was a joy to learn more about their wonderful work in the community while sharing stories about trees, and to see how a simple invitation can bring back so many memories.
A heartfelt thank-you to Daniela Val, Program Director of Evanston Grows for the invitation, and to Jamie Thome of Hive Center for the Book Arts for connecting us.
Over the years, I’ve been blessed to hear so many beautiful tree stories, so many that have never been written down. Sometimes I feel like a little repository for these memories. And really, what matters most is that the stories are shared, remembered, and heard.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and shared a little piece of their story. I’m so grateful to Evanston Grows for welcoming Treewhispers and making space for these moments of connection.
Here’s to the trees, and to all the memories we carry with us.
